Just unveiled at the German commercial vehicle show, the European version of the all new 2014 Ford Transit Connect has a lot more style. Watch for the US version to hit Brown Motors’ showroom fourth quarter of 2013. “I can see a bigger demand for this new Transit Connect,” says Steve Brown of Brown Motors.
The Transit Connect fuel economy is superior to standard cargo vans. Ford hasn’t said what specs the US versions will offer, though the automaker does promise best-in-class load carrying ability and strong fuel economy. The Euro version gets an engine stop start system and Ford’s SNYC connectivity feature as standard — hopefully those great features will be carried over to the US market!
The design of the latest Transit Connect is all-new, particularly at the front where angular headlights and Ford’s signature trapezoidal grille add a bit of style. Body configurations include short-wheelbase (SWB) and long-wheelbase (LWB) versions, offering a spacious and practical load area with total volume of about 102 and 127 cubic feet respectively.
