SRT used the Chicago auto show to debut Satin Vapor versions of its tuned Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger hot rods, cars with add-ons that it says will “add some swagger” to the trio. This exciting announcement leaves us in anticipation about what the vehicles hold, so let’s check out what we already know about the models.
All three cars get the same 20×9-inch, split-spoke forged aluminum wheels with black chrome finish. Peeking out from behind are the red calipers of Brembo brakes. All three SRTs have matte (“Black Satin”) mirrors, badging, and rear spoilers. The Challenger’s fuel door also receives the same finish, as does the Charger’s Super Bee graphic. The Challenger is available in white, TorRed, Header Orange, and graphite; the 300 in white, silver, and granite; and the Charger in silver, graphite, TorRed, and white.
Inside, all three get dark upholstery—black in the 300 and Charger, charcoal for the Challenger—that mixes Nappa leather and faux suede, as well as various trim bits done in carbon-look or piano black.
Chrysler doesn’t just stop at a few aesthetic changes, they go all the way to the engine, because you can’t be “street and racing” without the “technology” to back it up. All three vehicles will be powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 delivering 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. This engine also comes with a valve exhaust system that helps the Fuel Saver Technology engage over a wide rpm range.
All three vehicles are expected to arrive in Petoskey during spring/summer 2014.
