If you are looking for a truck that has the power and performance to drive on any terrain, then you are in the right place! Ram’s Power Wagon, shown at the New York Auto Show this past week, can drive up and down mountains, over rocks and dirt, off-trail, and of course, on any road you will need to take.
The Power Wagon can tow 10,810 pounds, drive through 2.5 feet of standing water, and drive over obstacles with its 14.5 inches of ground clearance.
The first Power Wagons were built by Dodge for U.S. government in World War II. After the War, Dodge decided there had to be a market for a four-wheel drive, heavy-duty truck for the general public, not just the military. In 1946, Dodge came out with the first four-wheel drive vehicle for the general public, the power wagon.
Now, over 60 years later, the Power Wagon is still one of the most powerful trucks out there. The new 2014 Dodge Ram Power Wagon will have a 6.4L V8 engine with 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. These are both strong enough to award the truck “Best In Class” for both torque and horsepower.
