Ford autonomous driving technology is currently only available in the brand’s European lineup, but it looks like it will soon arrive in the U.S. in 2016. This technology is set to be better than ever before with two new types of technology added to already lengthy list of features.
Ford will be adding pre-collision assist and pedestrian detection technologies to add to its suite of autonomous driving tech and safety tech.
“During the next five years, we will migrate to driver-assist technologies across our product lineup to help make our roads safer and continue to increase automated driving capability,” said Raj Nair, Ford Group Vice President of Global Product Development. “Ford has worked with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University to create the autonomous technology, all a part of their “Blueprint for Mobility.”
The addition of this new Ford autonomous driving technology is only the second phase of the company’s three phase plan. Make sure you check back to Brown Motors Ford Lincoln in the future to learn more about the brand’s newest technology.
