The J.D. Power APEAL Study Awards were recently announced and Ford has come away with three individual segment winners. The U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study is now in its 20th year and provides the industry benchmark when it comes to new vehicle appeal.
This year, the C-Max, Expedition and F-150 were all award winners in their respective categories – Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle, Large SUV, and Large LightDuty Pickup. The F-150 was honored for its second consecutive year.
The APEAL Study’s purpose is to evaluate and assess how new drivers feel about ownership of the new vehicle and how it drives. Consumers are surveyed and their answers are measured on a 1,000 point scale. Consumers evaluate their vehicle across 77 different aspects.
Ford’s overall brand score was 798, an improvement of 9 points compared to last year’s study.
