The 2015 Ford Edge was awarded the Top Government Safety Award for its available driver-assist technologies. The 2015 Edge offers adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support, 180-degree front camera with washer, inflatable rear safety belts, and a standard rear camera.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the edge a perfect 5-star Overall Vehicle Score. This is the highest possible rating from the U.S. government.
“The new Edge delivers on the quality and handling customers have come to expect from a Ford vehicle, while infusing more innovation and advanced technology to create a vehicle that we think will maintain its leadership position in its segment,” said JD Shanahan, chief program engineer for Edge.
This Edge, unlike previous models, has many options including 3 engine options. It also provides a large amount of safety and driver-assist technologies not previously available. The standard technologies will even surprise you with an active glove box knee airbag that will protect the front passenger in certain crashes.
